My name is Lucia Teixeira, I was born and raised in the Algarve, Portugal and currently working in the UK. I am a passionate and enthusiastic Photographer, Camera Operator, Video Editor, and Graphic Designer.

I started taking pictures at the age of 14, with what was supposed to be a cordless webcam with built-in memory for about 12 very low-res images.

Later I studied a bachelor’s degree in Image and Sound at ESAD.CR, Portugal. My initial emphasis was on photography, but as I gained practical knowledge my focus was split between still and moving images.

I now have over 10 years of industry experience photographing, filming and editing sports, travel, lifestyle, news, fashion, music and commercial projects for press, web and TV.

In these last few years, my work turned towards a more gritty and realistic direction. Shadows, lines, angles, exciting shapes and textures provided my inspiration. I usually shoot places, city streets and situations, signs, lines and try to keep my images loyal to the place and its feeling.

Currently, I am trying to focus my work on movement, water, people, details and negative space and trying to develop more experimental pieces. Most of all, I am looking forward to being a part of a creative project that will help me develop personally and professionally, working with what I love most.
