I visited the Netherlands for the first time as a quick city break, with a childhood friend from Portugal. I wasn’t even supposed to have taken my camera, but afterwards, I was so glad I did! A long weekend ended up being too short even for Amsterdam, and we left with a feeling of having left a job half done! I went back many times after that, and I always leave thinking about where I want to go when I go back.

Photographing in the Netherlands is always easy, kind of like Denmark, Sweden or Norway. Everything seems different, more logic and interesting. The scenery is obviously different. Rural or urban, the landscapes are breath-taking. Then society also seems to have different rules, values and concerns. It feels a bit futuristic, it makes sense and it looks great! (Year: 2011)
