Singapore was for my first stop in a very long Asian trip not long ago. A couple local friends had told me a lot about it but I was still surprised to see the general state of order and cleanliness around the city. It felt a bit like Europe, but I never forgot I was in Asia. The food is awesome, especially the dishes from the neighbouring Malaysia and Indonesia. A country that went from 3rd world to 1st in a single generation time can be anything but dull, and Singapore is proof of that. You can tell by walking around the streets that education and culture are capital. Singaporeans are a very diverse society, and you can’t see so many different cultures and religions coexisting in harmony everywhere. So I guess rules exist for a reason and when people follow the rules, the society evolves and seems to work better for everyone. (Year: 2018)
