Kikazaru Producciones is a Spanish TV Production Company specialised in alternative sports. Based in the island of Tenerife, Spain, they are internationally famous for their high quality and spectacular video and cover many different national and international sports events for national and international TV channels. Trail and road running, triathlons, marathons, ultra marathons, on and off road cycling, surf, BMX, live-changing challenges across the world – they just love it all.
After many years of work, the Kikazaru team has visited unimaginable places and lived beyond belief experiences to give visibility to great sporting events all over the world.
My time in Kikazaru gave me the opportunity to live awesome experiences, travel and work with a team of great audio-visual professionals. Here you can find some of the work we did together. (Years: 2016 to 2018)

Vitoria Triathlon 2017
Vitoria-Gasteiz invites you to the spectacular cultural capital of northern Spain‘s Basque Country, province of Álava! With over a decade of triathlon heritage, Vitoria-Gasteiz is a well-known triathlon playground offering astonishing natural landscapes, mild weather, rich culture, unforgettable Basque gastronomy, and passionate and vibrant people.

Orbea Gran Fondo Vitoria 2018
In the Orbea Gran Fondo Vitoria-Gasteiz cyclists found a winding route, of strong wear and in which, they had to ascend six ports with an average of 5 km. Except for Herrera, all ports were “affordable” for the vast majority of cyclists, but it was be the rate imposed by each one, as well as the sum of the 180 km and 3100 meters of unevenness, which demanded the best of each of them to cross the finish line in the Basque Country’s city of Vitoria, Spain. The landscape and atmosphere on this race couldn’t be better, which together with the great Basque food and the mild weather made it a great experience for all participants.

Formentera Half Marathon 2018
The paradisiac balearic island, of Formentera, in Spain was the perfect landscape for a very special half marathon. The incredible landscape, the warm weather, the tranquility of the island plus the good food and atmosphere made it a very special event.

Atlantic Ocean Surfski Lanzarote 2017
The Atlantic coasts of Lanzarote, in the Canary Islands (Spain), was home to a very special stop on the world cup circuit of Surfski. The sport was completely new for me and filming this race was a very revealing experience. The atmosphere was incredible, with paddlers from all over the world meeting in a small town for a few days. It was a special event that is getting bigger and bigger every year.

Seville Marathon 2018
The Zurich Marathon Sevilla, organised by the City of Sevilla, in the south of Spain, is known to be one of the flattest in Europe. Great runners take the opportunity to set great records. The city is beautiful, the weather is warm and the atmosphere is just incredible, with multitudes of locals cheering for the runners all over the place.

Carrera de la Mujer de Valencia 2018
The Carrera de la Mujer (women’s race) circuit holds solidarity racing events throughout Spain contributing to important solidarity causes for women. The circuit has been growing and evolving each year and it has now races in the 8 most important Spanish cities. Valencia is one of them, where more than 17.000 women participated in 2018, working together and pushing their own limits to help fight problems as serious as violence, abuse, cancer, etc.

The Reventon Trail is a trail running marathon in the canary island of La Palma, Spain. The best trail runners gather in this small island for a few days to run one of the toughest and most incredible races in Europe. The volcanic island presents them with a landscape as surreal as amazing and the cumulative ascent of 2.457 m. doesn’t make it easy for anyone not to be amazed.

Transvulcania 2017
Transvulcania is one of the most demanding races I’ve known. Four days of the most authentic trail running that can, for multiple reasons, take the ultramarathon trail runners to their limits. The incredible volcanic landscape of the island of La Palma, in the Canary Islands (Spain) is by itself a reason to lose your breath. If on top of that you’re supposed to run a distance of 74.33 kilometers, while climbing 4,350 meters of positive cumulative gain and descending again to sea level where the finish line is surrounded by an amazing environment with lots of people, then you’re done. This race is for the best and even for them it seems to be a life-changing experience.

Bienvenido a un mundo diferente – Morocco 2018
The Spanish hotel chain Ilunion Hotels prepared a life-changing experience for their employees in 2019. 40% of Ilunion’s workforce consists of people with some type of disability and eager to help others. So first, they organised teams in all their hotels all over Spain to gather first necessity goods, clothes, shoes, toys, school supplies, medicine, etc. Then they came up with this awesomely crazy and at the same time very serious “road trip” from Madrid to Morocco, in Africa. Finally, 20 trucks fully loaded with goods and very excited people travelled about 3.000km to find the poorest and most remote little villages in Morocco. It was a very emotional, humbling and revealing experience for all of us involved.

Pilgrim Race – Heroes 2017
The Spanish hotel chain Ilunion Hotels prepared a life-changing experience for their employees in 2017. 40% of Ilunion’s workforce consists of people with some type of disability and a great spirit of self-improvement. Ilunion Hotels came up with this idea of building a team of “heroes” to accomplish the ultimate challenge. A group of 7 employees, who didn’t know each other, with different types of disabilities and almost no experience on a bike, would cycle from Madrid to Santiago de Compostela, sharing 24 hours a day, a tent and reviving one of the oldest and most forgotten pilgrimage routes in Spain. It was a very emotional life-changing and personal-growth experience for all of us involved, pedalling or not.

San Borondon Surf 2016
The Canary Islands in Spain have some of the best surf areas and, of course, surfers in the country. On many occasions the north coast of the 7 islands get giant waves and the most adventurous surfers come to have a try on the ocean’s greatness. This is the promo for one of those occasions. A day with many incredible waves, incredible surfers and just as incredible wipeouts.

Fudenas 2017
Fudenas is a mountain-bike race organised by the Spanish military on the island of Fuerteventura, in the Canary Islands off the coast of Morocco. The participants, many of them military themselves, start the race in the southern coast of the island, spend a night camping in a small town in the center of the island with their cycling companions and resume the cycling in the morning until they reach the north coast. The atmosphere is awesome, the landscape is even better and the whole race is an amazing experience where people get to know and help each-other and themselves.
