Vietnam is one of my top-3 countries. I visited it straight after Japan, so at that time it was a bit of a shock – a welcome one. It was also a very abrupt landscape change and after getting used to the Japanese way, walking around with the Vietnamese traffic rules can get a bit risky – I loved it though. It felt like I was back in real life.
I fell in love with the people, their culture, their food, the rust, the random objects mended countless times, the diversity of landscapes and weather conditions it has to offer and, of course, their history. The very present remains of the communist era, the Chinese influence in the north, the land border -crossing to Cambodia and their shared history can only make me more into it. Vietnam is a warrior, an example of resilience and it is so beautiful in all aspects that I can’t just help to wanting to come back and get different experiences out of it. (Years: 2018 and 2019)
